The best performance of the Municipal Corporation under the Majhi Vasundhara 2.0,3.0,4.0 campaign

Without adopting a lifestyle with the five elements of nature, we will not be able to live with nature and biodiversity will not exist. In the Majhi Vasundhara campaign, the Municipal Corporation is implementing various activities based on the five elements of nature - earth, air, water, fire, and sky. Under Majhi Vasundhara 3.0, the Environment Department has been implementing various programs under the guidance of Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Javale for the last few years to create awareness among the citizens about the environment. Taking note of the work being done by the Municipal Corporation, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has been ranked second in the state among the cities with the best performance in the population group of 3 lakh to 10 lakh under the Majhi Vasundhara Abhiyan 3.0 campaign and an award of Rs. 6 crore was given at the ‘Majhi Vasundhara 3.0 Samman’ ceremony held at NCPA in Mumbai on the occasion of World Environment Day on June 5. City Beautification and Cleanliness Competition

In the State-level City Beautification and Cleanliness Competition 2022 organized by the Government of Maharashtra, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation secured third place in the state in the group of Class D Municipal Corporations. On April 20, on the occasion of Urban Development Day, in a grand ceremony held at NCPA, the officials of Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation were felicitated with a cheque of Rs. 5 crore and a memento in the presence of Hon. Chief Minister Eknathji Shinde and Hon. Deputy Chief Minister Devendraji Fadnavis, as well as the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Hon. Rahulji Narvekar, Minister of School Education Hon. Deepakji Kesarkar, Chief Secretary of the State Hon. Shri Manukumar Srivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Hon. Shri Bhushan Gagrani, Principal Secretary Hon. Smt. Sonia Sethi, Commissioner and Director Shri. Kiran Kulkarni. While preparing for the Swachh Survekshan competition under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the Municipal Corporation has always emphasized on sustainable sanitation work without thinking only about the competition. Under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, 2414 individual toilets have been constructed in the municipal area. Families in the cities who do not have toilet facilities. Families who used to defecate in the open have been provided with individual household toilets. In this way, by providing toilet facilities to every family in the city, Ahilyanagar city has become an open defecation-free city.

Taking note of the work being done by Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation, in the Central Government's Swachh Survekshan 2023 competition, under the guidance of Administrator and Commissioner Dr. Pankaj Javale, Ahilyanagar Municipal Corporation has secured 3rd rank at the state level in the D class municipal corporation group. It has also secured first rank in Nashik division. Along with this, it has secured 3 stars for garbage-free cities and ODF++ status for open defecation-free city. The municipal corporation has made steady progress since its establishment and has secured the best rank this year.
